Im Sommer-Transferfenster versuchte Al-Hilal neben Ausgaben von 353 Millionen Euro für Neymar &. Co. auch noch Napolis Starstürmer Victor Osimhen nach Saudi-Arabien zu lotsen. Was sich nach mehreren abgelehnten Angeboten auf einer möglichen Ablöseebene von angeblich 140 Mio. Euro bewegt haben soll, schaukelte sich auch in der Gehaltsfrage für den Nigerianer wohl in schwindelerregende Höhen. Darüber sprach Osimhen nun im „Obi One Podcast“ von Ex-Profi John Obi Mikel.

Victor Osimhen ist zu Afrikas Fußballer des Jahres gewählt worden. Wie der Kontinentalverband CAF am Montagabend bekannt gab, setzte sich der 24 Jahre alte Stürmer des italienischen Meisters SSC Neapel bei der Wahl gegen den ehemaligen Dortmunder Achraf Hakimi (Marokko) von Paris Saint-Germain und Ägyptens Nationalspieler Mohamed Salah vom FC Liverpool durch. Mit Dortmunds Ramy Bensebaini (Algerien), Leverkusens Edmond Tapsoba (Burkina Faso) und Serhou Guirassy (Guinea) vom VfB Stuttgart waren auch drei Bundesliga-Profis bei der Wahl mit in der Verlosung.

Da ist die offizielle Bestätigung! Grundsätzlich gibt es aktuell viel zu kritisieren, aber die Verlängerung des besten Fußballers Afrikas ist definitiv ein starkes Statement. Mit einem Nettogehalt von 9-10 Mio. ist er nun der bestbezahlte Spieler unserer Vereinsgeschichte und der aktuell bestbezahlte Profi der gesamten Serie A. Laut Romano liegt die Ausstiegsklausel bei ca. 130 Mio. Das bedeutet er bleibt uns entweder noch langfristig erhalten, oder wir erhalten im nächsten Sommer eine Rekordsumme.
