Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic is on the verge of joining Juventus for €18 million and will have a medical on Monday, Goal understands.
Atletico boss Diego Simeone hinted on Tuesday that the Croatia international could leave after claiming the club would decide the player's future rather than him.
Juventus have since emerged as the frontrunners to sign Mandzukic after Carlos Tevez informed the club of his desire to return to Boca Juniors.

Mario Mandzukic is this morning undergoing a routine medical ahead of his proposed transfer to Juventus from Atletico Madrid.
The 29-year-old forward will take his first tests at the city’s Clinica Fornaca di Sessant, before completing the procedure at the Istituto di Medicina dello Sport medical centre

La Juventus comunica di aver perfezionato l’accordo con l'Atletico Madrid per l’acquisizione a titolo definitivo del diritto alle prestazioni sportive del calciatore Mario Mandzukic a fronte di un corrispettivo di € 19 milioni pagabili in tre rate: € 7 milioni entro il 1° agosto 2015, € 6 milioni entro il 10 agosto 2016 e € 6 milioni entro il 10 agosto 2017.
Il valore di acquisto potrà incrementarsi di ulteriori massimi € 2 milioni al raggiungimento di determinati obiettivi sportivi nel corso della durata contrattuale.
La Juventus ha sottoscritto con lo stesso calciatore un contratto di prestazione sportiva quadriennale.
