Der Schweizer Erstligist FC St. Gallen hat den ursprünglich zu Saisonende auslaufenden Vertrag mit ÖFB-Legionär Fabian Schubert um eine weitere Spielzeit verlängert. Der 28-jährige Angreifer war 2021 von Zweitliga-Meister Blau-Weiß Linz in die Schweiz gewechselt, wo er seither für St. Gallen 40 Pflichtspielen 13 Tore erzielte. Im September 2022 zog sich der Kärntner dann aber einen Schien- und Wadenbeinbruch zu und fällt seither aus.
