Giroud's imminent signing with LAFC was also corroborated by The Athletic, which reported that sources close to the club confirmed that a deal is "being finalized" for the Frenchman to join in the summer when the MLS transfer window opens on July 18, with a guaranteed deal through the 2025 season.

For the time being, Giroud will finish his time with AC Milan where he has contributed 12 goals and eight assists this season, in addition to participating with France in Euro 2024 from June 14 to July 14.

However, his arrival could take a little longer if he is one of Thierry Henry's reinforcements for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

What about Carlos Vela?
In order to reinforce the team, LAFC signed World Cup winning goalkeeper Hugo Lloris from Tottenham Hotspur, and so far, he has played in four matches, registering a win, one draw and two defeats.

Meanwhile, Carlos Vela has not been able to join any team, after LAFC decided not to renew his contract. The 'Bomber' rejected offers from Chivas and Cruz Azul in Liga MX.

He also failed to arrange a deal with Real Sociedad in Spain and San Jose Earthquakes, a team with which he had serious talks a few days ago. It appears he has no choice but to wait a few months to find a team or decide that it is time to retire at the age of 35.

CM: Giroud chooses to leave Milan – the details of his deal with LAFC
French striker Olivier Giroud has taken the decision to leave AC Milan in the summer transfer window and sign for MLS side Los Angeles FC.

According to Calciomercato.com, Giroud is going to sign an 18-month contract with the American team and the move is being made with a view to a future in management, rather than just being made for playing reasons.

Whilst there is currently no official announcement from the club or the player, the talks are at an advanced stage and it seems inevitable that Giroud will not be a Milan player next season.

There was a potential hint dropped by LAFC on X recently as they shared a video with the caption ‘Bonne Nuit’, although this may have been referencing a move for Ajaccio defender Maxime Chanot.Giroud is out of contract at the end of this season and there has always been a chance that he would pursue his minor dream of playing in America, but the club held out hope that he would extend by another year. Now he will have to be replaced.

Giroud has spent three years at Milan and was a key part of the team that won the Scudetto in 2021/22. He would be leaving Milan at a point where he is still viewed as a very important player.

STRIKE OUT Ex-Arsenal and Chelsea star Olivier Giroud agrees transfer to join new club aged 37
Giroud has already hinted at retirement
AC MILAN striker Olivier Giroud is set to join MLS side Los Angeles FC in a permanent transfer.

The 37-year-old was first linked with the club back in October.

But according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, a verbal agreement has been reached.

Giroud's proposed contract will be valid until December 2025.

The Frenchman is yet to officially sign, but his deal is close to being completed.

Giroud has spent the last three years with AC Milan.

So far this season he has scored 14 goals and provided nine assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.

Prior to joining the Serie A giants he spent three years at Chelsea, where he won the Europa League, Champions League and FA Cup.

But arguably his most memorable spell was with Arsenal.

Giroud joined the Gunners in a £9.6million transfer from Montpellier in June 2012.

He went on to make 253 appearances, scoring 105 goals and providing 41 assists.

The striker won the coveted Puskas Award during his time in north London after scoring a sensational scorpion kick against Crystal Palace in 2017.

Giroud has also established himself as a France legend over the years.

He became the country's all-time top goalscorer at the 2022 World Cup after surpassing Thierry Henry's record.

However, in December he admitted that Euro 2024 could be his last major tournament.

Giroud told TéléFoot: "I’m not planning beyond the short-term. The most important thing is to be fit and competitive, these Euros are an objective.

"We nearly got it in 2016, and it is a trophy that I would love to win with France.

"It will maybe, probably, be my last competition, but I can’t tell you what will happen after."

LAFC FINALIZING DEAL TO ACQUIRE OLIVIER GIROUD FROM AC MILAN
According to Athletic reporter Tom Bogert, Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) is close to finalizing a deal to acquire the renowned French striker Olivier Giroud.

LAFC held the discovery rights to the French player, ensuring their priority in signing the contract ahead of any other MLS club.

Giroud Bolsters LAFC’s Attack
With Giroud joining an impressive attack led by current MLS top scorer Denis Bouanga and Uruguayan international Cristian Olivera, LAFC’s prospects for the upcoming season are brighter than ever.

At 37 years old, Giroud has already made his mark in football history, holding the record for most goals scored by a French player internationally. His remarkable finishing ability and vision will undoubtedly be valuable to LAFC.

After such a renowned career, Olivier Giroud, one of the most essential strikers in France today, is ready to make his mark in the United States with LAFC. With a contract guaranteed until 2025, Giroud’s arrival would be a significant acquisition for the club. With 12 goals and eight assists in 1,851 minutes played for AC Milan this season, the striker would fit well among the team’s fast wingers.

Expectations for Giroud’s Debut
Although the transfer window is pending until July 18, after the end of the Euros, where Giroud is expected to represent France, the Frenchman will be able to debut in the League Cup for the Los Angeles team.

LAFC: Defensive Reinforcement
In addition, LAFC seems to be strengthening its defense with the signing of Maxime Chanot, former captain of New York City FC. Chanot, who has made 22 appearances and played 1,845 minutes for AC Ajaccio in France this season, brings vast experience and leadership to solidify the club’s defensive line.

Lorenzo Dellavalle’s injury, which ruled him out for the season, highlighted LAFC’s need to reinforce its defense, making Chanot’s signing even more crucial.

With the arrival of the two Frenchmen joining goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, the Black and Gold becomes a hub of French football, marking a historic moment for the club and MLS. With his vast experience and impressive goal-scoring record, Giroud promises to bring a new level of competition to Inter Miami. At the same time, LAFC will aim to win more titles in its young history as a team.

LAFC Poised to Sign World Cup Winner Olivier Giroud, Reports Say
The Frenchman would likely arrive after this summer's Euro 2024
Los Angeles Football Club is reportedly looking to bolster their team by signing another World Cup winner. In January, the club signed Hugo Lloris to a one-year deal. And now, the team is locked in on France and AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud.

According to details disclosed to The Athletic, he would sign once his contract with Milan expires and join LAFC after serving on French international duty for Euro 2024. Fans of the team could expect Giroud to arrive around July 18, when the MLS summer transfer window opens.

As a cherry on top, LAFC owns his MLS discovery rights, meaning they have first dibs on the Frenchman. The deal would run through 2025, sources told the outlet.

Giroud would certainly add an element of professionalism and experience to the team's attack. The 37-year-old is France's all-time leading scorer and recently won a Scudetto with Milan for the 2021-22 season. Just two years earlier, he won the Champions League — the highest club achievement in European soccer — with Chelsea. Another two years before that, he lifted the World Cup alongside possible future teammate Hugo Lloris.

His longest club tenure was with Arsenal; he spent six seasons with the London club, netting 105 goals in 253 games. One of those goals even snatched him a FIFA Puskas Award in 2017, after finishing off a cross from Chilean Alexis Sanchez with an acrobatic scorpion kick.

Previous to that, he enjoyed his first rise to international fame with Montpellier where he won a domestic league trophy in a 21-goal, 12-assist season.

Representatives from LAFC have not yet responded to Los Angeles magazine's request for comment or confirmation.

LAFC finalizing deal with Olivier Giroud through 2025 - sources
MLS side LAFC is finalizing a deal with AC Milan and France international forward Olivier Giroud, sources confirmed to ESPN.

Giroud, 37, is set to join up with LAFC after completing his obligations to the France national team at Euro 2024, which is set to take place between June 14 and July 14. The MLS summer transfer window opens on July 18 and lasts through Aug. 14.

The deal is expected to last through at least the end of the 2025 season and would make Giroud a designated player for LAFC.

LAFC owns Giroud's discovery rights -- the right of first refusal among MLS clubs - meaning there is no impediment to LAFC signing the forward, though Giroud is known to have spoken with other MLS clubs.

His current deal with AC Milan expires at the end of the 2023-24 Serie A season. Giroud would also need to pass a physical and acquire a work visa before he officially signs with LAFC.

Giroud has been a prolific goalscorer for both club and country, netting 276 times in a club career that has spanned nearly 700 league and cup appearances, and is France's all-time leading scorer with 57 in 131 appearances.

He was part of France's World Cup-winning side in 2018, and has won a total of 11 trophies with several clubs, including Montpellier, Arsenal, Chelsea and Milan, the latter of which he helped win Serie A during the 2021-22 season.

Giroud also represented France at two other World Cups and three European Championships. This season, Giroud has been in outstanding form, scoring 12 goals and adding eight assists in 26 Serie A appearances.

LAFC has reached the MLS Cup in the past two seasons, defeating the Philadelphia Union in the final in 2022 before losing to the Columbus Crew in 2023.

The club has plenty of roster flexibility heading into the summer, with two designated player spots currently open.

LAFC is in sixth place in the Western Conference this season with seven points from five matches.

France striker Olivier Giroud reportedly nearing deal with LAFC
Los Angeles FC is nearing a deal to sign France and AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud to an 18-month contract that will start following this summer's European Championship, according to a report from The Athletic on Tuesday. Fabrizio Romano confirmed the report on Wednesday.

Giroud, 37, will reunite with LAFC keeper Hugo Lloris, who captained the French men's national team for a decade before retiring from international soccer following the 2022 FIFA World Cup final. They won the 2018 World Cup together in 2018 and the UEFA Nations League title in 2021.

Giroud still represents France at the international level, most recently scoring the match-winner in France's 3-2 win over Costa Rica on Tuesday. He's France's all-time leading goalscorer with 53 goals in 120 appearances.

Giroud's decision to join LAFC will also put an end to his illustrious career in Europe, where he's scored 261 goals dating back to his first senior club appearance in 2005. This season with AC Milan, Giroud has tallied 14 goals and nine assists in all competitions.

Before signing with AC Milan in 2021, Giroud played in the English Premier League for nine years — six with Arsenal and three with Chelsea, the latter with which he won his first and only UEFA Champions League title.

Giroud is expected to be called up by France for this summer's European Championship in Germany.

3 reasons why Arsenal legend Olivier Giroud will improve LAFC
Joining the roster this summer, here are 3 reasons why signing Olivier Giroud will immensely benefit LAFC...
Earlier today, MLS Multiplex dropped the exciting news that Olivier Giroud would join LAFC at the end of his current European season. The AC Milan player is expected to join the LAFC roster after the EURO 2024, where he will represent the France national team no doubt.

3 reasons why Arsenal legend Olivier Giroud will improve LAFC
Here are 3 reasons why signing Olivier Giroud will immensely benefit LAFC...

1. Immense experience at the highest level
Like his international countryman Hugo Lloris, who he will finally meet up with again in the States, Olivier Giroud has great experience at the highest level. So far, Giroud has spent his entire playing career in Europe, where the very best of the game ply their trade.

Giroud has represented some incredible clubs, including Montpellier Arsenal, Chelsea, AC Milan and the French national team. He has played alongside some world-class players during his time, including Kylian Mbappe, Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Therefore, he will bring a wealth of knowledge to the LAFC ranks. This will mostly benefit the younger players in the LAFC squad but there's no denying that the veterans could learn a thing or two from Giroud, too.

Olivier Giroud Net Worth & Salary 2024 – How Rich Is LAFC-Bound France WC Winner?
The United States has witnessed a new era of soccer. The ongoing edition of the MLS has seen some of the top stars in the world join the Lionel Messi hype train. Just months after Hugo Lloris‘s surprise move to the LAFC, the club is close to landing another French icon. French World Cup winner Olivier Giroud could soon board the flight to Los Angles!

Olivier Giroud is among one of the finest strikers in the game. The ex-Arsenal star will surely be a top signing, with MLS fans witnessing Luis Suarez, Hugo Lloris, and Emil Forsberg’s arrival this season. Despite his unparalleled success with AC Milan, the upcoming decisions suggest Giroud could soon be house-hunting in the United States.

Olivier Giroud’s move to the United States is a fresh sign that players have been willing to join the MLS following Lionel Messi’s footsteps. The Argentine could have been a deciding factor, as he has ample money to last his life. The Frenchman’s net worth is estimated at around $10 million, with the French star earning a hefty $5 million per season at AC Milan.

Apart from his wages from his work as a player, the soccer star also has some notable brand endorsements. Giroud is exclusively contracted with Puma, as fans saw him sporting the brand’s Ultimate cleats. A move to the United States could open more doors for the Frenchman, who will have the chance to take things to the next level under the bright lights of the country.

Is LA FC becoming the new Inter Miami as Olivier Giroud looms closer?
While this might seem like a reach, LAFC in recent months has been adopting a similar approach as Inter Miami. Rather than focusing on developing new stars, the club has roped in some of the top players at the final run of their careers. Both Giorgio Chiellini and Hugo Lloris fit the bill, and a move for Giroud also falls under the same category. To connect more dots, similar to Inter Miami, who have been roping former Barcelona stars, LAFC might have shifted their focus to French soccer players.

Notably, Olivier Giroud and Lloris have simultaneously come through the ranks with Les Blues. The two have enormous experience thanks to their impressive careers, with both a part of the French World Cup winning team in 2018. It will be absorbing to see if a move for the Frenchman will help the club establish their footing in the Western Conference standings as they look to book their berth for the playoffs.
