Experience in bid for promotion: Watford sign Colombian midfielder Sánchez

Watford strengthened their squad in their bid for promotion to the Premier League with plenty of experience. The Hornets announced the signing of Carlos Sánchez on Thursday. The 88-time international and two-time World Cup participant of Colombia receives a contract running until the end of the season.

Sánchez last played for West Ham from 2018 to 2020, playing a total of 17 matches for the Hammers. The 35-year-old, who has played in all of Europe’s top leagues except the Bundesliga, making over 300 appearances over the years, has been without a club since last summer. Watford are currently third in the Championship with 63 points from 34 games.
