Daryl Dike draws Club Brugge interest - Belgium club to pay above market value?

Belgian club Club Brugge have kept a close eye on Orlando City striker Daryl Dike. Reports in Belgium have linked the 20-year-old US striker with a Nigerian passport with a move to the Jupiler Pro League. Het Nieuwsblad were the first to report about the potential interest. Speaking to multiple-sources with direct knowledge of the situation, Transfermarkt can that Brugge are indeed interested in the striker. 

"Last summer, Brugge looked at players like Mandžukić and Dost to strengthen the team, and they are once again looking for a player of that sort of profile," Bart Tamsyn, Area Manager Transfermarkt.nl said. "I believe that if there is a youngster with the same profile with an excellent chance to succeed, then there is a possibility that they will go for such a profile." 

Dike would certainly fit such a profile. The Orlando City forward has been in prolific form this season, scoring eight goals and three assists in 22 games across all competitions.

Dike to Brugge? - $8m too much for Brugge

 

But prices of around $8 million rumored in the media are too high for Brugge. Tamsyn believes that Brugge would pay no more than €5 million for Dike ($5.5m). That price would still be significant above Dike's current market value. The 20-year-old striker has seen his market value grow from $1.65 million to $3.3 million in today's Major League Soccer market value update.
