Harry Kane's 137th Premier League goal seals 2-0 win for Tottenham over West Ham
Harry Kane's 137th Premier League goal in his 200th appearance for Tottenham has secured Spurs three important points in the Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur beat West Ham United 2-0 on Tuesday night at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Fighting relegation, West Ham United struggled throughout the 90 minutes and had just 35% possession. Tottenham were dominant in every aspect and thought that they had taken the lead in the 45th minute when Heung-min Son scored. VAR, however, deemed the Korean offside by a fraction. Then just before the halftime whistle Lucas Moura missed the wide-open net.
The second half started with more Tottenham pressure. But Spurs could not find an opening goal. Instead, they needed West Ham's help to open the scoring. In the 64th minute, midfielder Tomas Soucek scored on his own goal after a Tottenham corner.
West Ham now had to open up the game, which gave Tottenham room to counter. One of those counters opened up space for Kane to score. Erik Lamela spotted the run of his captain, who made no mistake to beat Lukasz Fabianski one-on-one to seal the deal for his team.
