Stats & facts

Official club name: Haderslev Fodboldklub Address:
Stadionvej 5
6100 Haderslev
Denmark
Website: Founded: Jul 14, 1906
Haderslev FK was the founded in 1906 and its first team was named "Haderslev FK" until the 2000/2001 season, where the club was promoted to the Danish first tier. The first team's name was changed to "Haderslev FK Sönderjylland" in order to appeal to the entire region of Southern Denmark rather than just the area around the city Haderslev, mainly for sponsorship reasons. On the 1st of january 2004, the corporate sport association "Sönderjysk Elitesport A/S" was established. A region-based initiative to promote sport in the entire region of Southern Denmark, including football, handball and ice hockey. HFK Sönderjylland's first team was the basis for the new SönderjyskE team, which meant that HFK Sönderjylland's mother club, Haderslev FK, gave the license to their first team to SönderjyskE. In this new constellation, Haderslev FK is the mother club of SönderjyskE. Haderslev FK's highest ranked team (except SonderjyskE) eventually became the previous second team, which was placed in the Denmark series.
